How did I not hear of The Dear Hunter before tonight? Casey Crescenzo's work on this album is nothing short of absolutely genius... I feel like I've missed out on something truly inspiring!

I'm so going out and buying all three of these albums tomorrow.. Tips were good today, and I can justify this....

Strange things occurring in iTunes lands today...

I upgraded to iTunes 8.2 today... and ever since it's been making this odd "schwoop" sound every time the display changes. I'm pretty sure that it has something to do with the Genius bar because it will "schwoop" every time something changes in it... it's not terribly annoying, but it's annoying enough when i'm trying to listen to music..

**also.. i just realized every time I go to a new section of the iTunes store it'll "schwoop" as well... wtf?

anyone else having this problem and/or know how to fix it?

say what you want about Claudio Sanchez "singing like a girl".... but his vocals backed by a female singer sounds like shit.

haven't done anything memeish in a while... so here goes

andrewisbored posted up a meme asking people to ask him about 6 of his user icons and he explained why he has them...

so go ahead and ask me about 6 (or however many) of my icons and I'll explain what they are all about :)

So for the past *ahem* few *ahem* months I have been working on this poster project for one of the walls in my living room. When I moved I found this book "The Art of Modern Rock" from when I graduated college that had a whole bunch of reproductions of rock posters from the late 80's through the late 90's. For a while I had the book on display, but I had to keep it up and away from the cats that would get up on the coffee table. So instead of putting it back in a box, I decided to take an Xacto knife box cutter to the pages and cut out a whole bunch of the posters. After that, all that was left was the process of individually tacking each poster to the wall!!

The first few days / weeks were pretty "full steam ahead"... I got about halfway through the wall in the first few days. Woo hoo!... but eventually I started to have to move furniture and that slowed my process. I didn't want to have to rearrange things in the living room.. so I let the wall sit for... oh, quite some time. I think that progress was halted at about 66% for a good month of two.

That was until I got the bug in me this past weekend to finish the damn thing off... so at around 4 am Monday morning I put the last poster into place! Felt all sort of good to finally be done with the project... And I'm really happy with how the whole thing came out!

I just got my first missed connection from working at Caribou

yay?

I know there are some Mother fans out there on the Flist... and I also know that a few of them are totally down with some awesome shoes (I'm looking in your direction soldierofsolace)

That's why I'm making this post, so that we Mother fans can enjoy ( these in real life )

There's a contest going on over at Vans (totally sweet) and being sponsored by Jones' Soda (even sweeter) and so far these shoes (aptly titled PSI Shoestorm) are running away with the votes... Thanks to the awesome folk over at Starmen the shoes are a good 4000 votes ahead of even the Mario and Halo designs... and though I may be a little biased, I think that they are easily the best designed shoes in the "Game Over" Collection...

So what are you waiting for... GO VOTE

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!!!

So this past Saturday I had the pleasure of going and taking some shots of the fantastic dedos and his equally fantastic pooch Gryphon. Gryph was quite the sport and allowed me to get all up in his face with my camera even though he can be a little camera shy! While the weather was a little overcast, it was an absolutely beautiful day on the beach and shooting with these guys was an absolute blast!
